High Tea at Hataitai Bowling Club - Sunday 26 July 2-5pm

We have something special coming up in Hataitai!  Here's an opportunity to join friends, family and neighbours for a get together at High Tea to be held at Hataitai Bowling Club on Sunday 26 July from 2-5pm – everyone is welcome to come along.

It's also a fundraiser to help upgrade the bowling clubrooms so there is a charge of $15 per person.  You can bring your own special tea cup too (optional).  It's essential that we have confirmed bookings before 15 July so get a group together and join in!  This event will be advertised in the next Hataitai Residents' Association newsletter to be delivered early in July and we’d appreciate you spreading the word among your friends and neighbours.

You can either pay by internet banking to Hataitai Residents' Association's ANZ account 06-0582-0082973-02 with your name as a reference or you can call or email one of us - we can post your ticket to you or arrange to meet you.

Looking forward to hearing from you and to meeting up again!

Cleanup of Hepara Street/Alexandra Road Walkway

No-one likes to walk home on a dark and rubbish-strewn path, so the Hataitai Resident's association plans to sponsor the cleanup of unwanted vegetation and rubbish from the walkway.

This work would be undertaken in collaboration with the Wellington City Council and the Wellington Community Probation Services.

It is likely to start Saturday 17 January 2015 and take about 1 month to complete.

This notice is to tell you about this and enlist your support. We want to know if you have any questions or concerns and invite you to become involved in keeping the walkway attractive and accessible in the future.

Clearing of unwanted vegetation and rubbish.

The proposal is for this work to be undertaken by community corrections workers who would:

  • be supervised at all times and be recognisable from their orange vests

  • have their movement limited to the walkway and have no reason to access private properties

  • need to have portaloos temporarily placed for their access, and skip bins for removal of vegetation and rubbish

  • start the work after 9.00 a.m and finish at 3.00 p.m . This recognises demand on using the walkway before and after those times.

Guardians of the walkway an invitation to be involved

We invite you to make known your interest in being part of a ‘guardians of the walkway' group. The purpose of this group is to keep the walkway attractive and accessible after it has been cleared, through an on-going planting and maintenance programme.

It is not the intention to limit this group to residents of the walkway. However, since you are learning of this first and have a vested interest in this walkway, you may want to play a part in this group’s formation.

    Want to know more?

If you have any questions about what’s proposed and/or if you have an interest in being a part of the group to ensure continuing ownership and responsibility after the clearing project, please contact us:
