Community House Coordinator

Farewell Rebecca Burgess HCCCH Community Coordinator

On Tuesday 9 July we farewelled Rebecca (Bex) Burgess our Hataitai Community Coordinator after 20 months in the role.  Bex dragged us into the 21st century of social and digital media greatly increasing our online presence.  She has always had a cheerful and positive greeting for all she met.

In her time with us she instituted the Fruit and Vege Bag initiative at the Community House, the Working from Home monthly group meet-up, Matariki celebration and she supported Frances with the Seniors Morning Tea Group at HBC, all appreciated by members of our Hataitai community.   She formed effective relationships with the Wellington City Council representatives and other community coordinators in the city.   From mid-2019, Bex also carried out the role of bookings Coordinator for the Hataitai Community Recreation Trust at the former Hataitai Bowling Club building.

Keen to have events that attracted families to the Village Green she ensured that the 2018 Christmas on the Green was an event to remember with a sponsored bouncy castle, umbrellas fluttering in the breeze and children’s age races.   Bex made a significant contribution as the writer of our fundraising quizzes held annually at The Realm.

Bex, thank you for your contribution to our Hataitai community and its facilities and programmes. We wish Bex well in her new position. Below Bex second right.
