Want to learn how to embroider? Stella is back at the Community House running a one day Embroidery Workshop in November.
In the workshop you will learn some simple stitching techniques and start work on a meditative mandala inspired embroidery artwork. You will gain the skills to be able to finish this project at home.
Your facilitator will be Stella Peg Carruthers, a textile craft artist and eco-lifestylist who sees crafts as being a way to affect positive change in the world as a creative gesture against apathy.
Her practice is centered around sustainable materials re-use and slow creativity processes.
She is also interested in creating supportive community workshops that mirror the history of sewing in social spaces.
DATE: Saturday 22 November 2025
TIME: 1.30pm-5.00pm
COST: $70 (materials included)
PLACE: Hataitai Community House, 112 Waipapa Road, Hataitai, Wellington City
