This year Hataitai will commemorate 80 years since WW2 ended and those who served in our community.
The Hataitai Centre and Community House organises a range of events for the local community through the year, lead by members of the community for the community!

Come along for a kōrero with our friendly community and enjoy free coffee, usually with a scone or muffin that someone has brought along. Everyone is welcome - with or without something to share.
You can find us upstairs at the Hataitai Bowling Club, 157 Hataitai Rd. We gather from 12pm with the event / swap part kicking off at 12:30pm SEE YOU THERE!

Bring your project for the monthly meet up for crafts of all kinds.
1st Sunday of the month, 10:30am - 12:30pm downstairs at the Hataitai Bowling Club.
If you can, bring a small koha to keep our spaces and community programs going.
We will have a sewing machine available, but we would love to see all kinds of projects!
Keep Hataitai’s streets and community spaces clean with us.
We run twice yearly Litter Blitz’s where the community gets together to pick up litter around the Hataitai Village and surrounding streets and community spaces.
Everyone is welcome for our monthly Senior’s Morning Tea.

The Hataitai Residents' Association meets on the first Tuesday of each month, 7:30pm at the Hataitai Centre (former bowling club), 157 Hataitai Road, Hataitai.
Everyone is welcome.
Enjoy a relaxing evening on the Village Green experiencing Mouthfull Radio’s eclectic sounds , with delicious food and a drink from our Downstairs Bar, which will be selling beer, wine and non alcoholic drinks.

Always wanted to learn how to knit but never been sure where to begin? Join craft tutor Stella Carruthers as she teaches the basic principles of knitting in this fun, informative and supportive class. In this workshop you will gain the essential building blocks of knitting using only knitting needles, your hands, and an open mind.

We’re excited to announce that this year’s Christmas on the Green, in conjunction with the December Community Market, will be held on Saturday, 14 December, 10:00am - 2:00pm at the Hataitai Centre. It’s going to be a wonderful day of festivities, including a raffle, sausage sizzle, lolly scramble and fun for the whole family!

Susie Ferguson will talk about her interesting life - training as an actor, a war correspondent, and for many years a broadcaster with Radio NZ (National). After a long stint as a Morning Report co-presenter, she now heads the 'Saturday Morning' program.
Come and hear her speak, at 4pm, Sunday 17 November at the Hataitai Centre. BYO drinks.

Celebrate local writers of Hataitai with live music and a relaxed chat, followed by readings by local poets Jenny Bornholdt, Gregory O'Brien, Dame Fiona Kidman, Tim Jones and Sarah Scott will read a selection of their poems at the reading.

All Saints Hataitai and the Hataitai Centre and Community House team are joining forces to host All Saints 'Annual Trick or Treat Light Party'.
Perfect for those younger kids or those who just want a bit of fun without a fright the evening will have plenty of candy and an awesome bouncy castle.
There will no Halloween event held at the Hataitai Centre on the 31st Oct.
Share and swap your excess seedlings, plants and seeds with other local gardeners!
Seniors Soup and Slice is a free event at Hataitai Centre on 7th Oct, 11am -1pm.
All seniors are welcome.
This event takes place at the same time as our usual Monthly Seniors Morning Tea.
Come along for some excellent soups, slices and connect with other local seniors in your area.
There will be information on other community initiatives you can get involved in or seek support from.

We are pleased to advise that the date for the Hataitai Childcare Collective & Community House (HCCCH) Annual General Meeting has been scheduled. HCCCH is the trust that looks after the Hataitai Community House.

Need help fixing your bike?
The team from BikeSpace will be at the Hataitai Centre to help you learn how to repair and maintain your bike. With winter in full swing, it is super important to keep your bike in tip top shape.
We will be meeting, downstairs on the ground floor of the Hataitai Centre from 3:30pm-5:30 pm on Thursday 6 June.
