About Marina
Marina (she/her) has started her yoga journey in 2005 while still in her home country, Brazil. Since moving to NZ in 2006 and continuing to expand her personal practice, she has fallen in love with yoga and the endless benefits of this ancient way of living.
In 2012 Marina completed her yoga teacher training with Byron Yoga Centre. She has been trained in Purna yoga, an alignment-based Hatha yoga with an emphasis on intelligent sequencing. Since completing her training, Marina has taught mostly Vinyasa flow and Yin yoga classes in studios and gyms and one-on-one sessions tailored to the student's needs.
By teaching yoga and finding it so rewarding to help people creating more balance in their lives (physical, mental and emotional) Marina has decided to become a nurse, completing her degree in 2019.
"Yoga is so much more than the eyes can meet. To me, the beauty of it is going back onto your mat over and over again, moving, breathing, meditating...and then one day realising that your practice extends to your everyday life...and vice versa. It is an endless opportunity for growth and expansion of being".
Marina's classes are designed to take you on a journey into yourself. Combining asana (physical postures), pranayama (breath control techniques) and introduction to meditation, she aims to create a safe environment for inner exploration while cultivating a curious and playful mindset.
Her Monday morning class is for every body! Lots of variations are given through Marina's guidance, so if this is your first time on a yoga mat, returning after a long break, or you are an experienced yogi...this class is for you!
