You may be aware that there are works taking place on the Ruahine Street footbridge. These works are to strengthen the footbridge to keep it safe for pedestrians. WCC are working with NZTA on the works and impact to State Highway 1.
From Sunday 5 July the works will move into the second phase, where the southbound lane will be closed for night works from 8.30pm to 5.30am to Thursday 16 July. Southbound traffic will be diverted after the Mt Victoria Tunnel onto Taurima Street, to Moxham Ave and Hamilton Road through to Wellington Road where the detour will end.
The footbridge will remain open through the works with no impact to pedestrians.
